The 2012 State Summer Games will be held June 1-2 at Fargo Davies High School. In addition to celebrating the 40th Anniversary of SOND, 2012 will mark the 15th consecutive year the Summer Games have been hosted by the city of Fargo. Competition will be held on Friday, June 1 in aquatics, bocce, powerlifting, and Unified volleyball. On Saturday, June 2 the event kicks off with Opening Ceremony and Parade of Athletes at 9:30 am, followed by competition in track & field events. More than 500 participants are expected to compete; representing the communities of Belcourt, Bismarck, Dickinson, Fargo, Grafton, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Mandan, Minot, Valley City, and Wahpeton. We are proud to announce Sanford Health as a premier sponsor of the State Summer Games.
The Annual Special Olympics North Dakota Golf Classic Tournaments will be taking place June 11 in Fargo at Oxbow Country Club, June 28 in Grand Forks at the Grand Forks Country Club, and August 6 in Minot at Souris Valley Golf Course. A Record Night for Special Olympics North Dakota!
Dave Kvidt and TJ Krug were presented the “Mirror Ball Trophy” in front of a sold out audience at the 3rd Annual Dancing for Special Stars event held at the Empire Arts Center, Grand Forks on Tuesday, April 10. They danced to a Michael Jackson medley. Twelve couples participated in the event which raised more than $34,000 for Special Olympics North Dakota.

2012 State Basketball Results

Korea to Host 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games
Pyeongchang, Korea will be the host site for the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games. The Games will be held January 26-February 6 and attract more than 2,500 athletes from 105 nations to compete in seven Olympic-type sports.
